New Trumpets

The two-piece bell of the YTR-2330/200AD is crafted using state-of-the-art production methods, delivering a consistent, vibrant tone. The balanced weight and addition of an adjustable third valve trigger allows for a natural hand position and promotes proper playing technique, while the water key on the third valve slide adds to the ease of use and over-all playability of the instrument.

The YTR-4335G has been designed by the same team that produces our top-of-the-line professional models and shares many of the same qualities, like a rich full tone with accurate intonation, and the ability to either blend with the ensemble or project a solo. It features Monel pistons for quick and reliable valve action, a gold-brass bell for warm rich tone. The entire inner bore taper-from mouthpiece receiver to the bell-has been scientifically designed for beautiful tone color, comfortable response, and as much sound as you want. 

This Xeno Bb trumpet model features a reversed leadpipe and yellow brass bell for quicker response and playing agility. The combination of a heavy mouthpiece receiver and removal of the third valve water key results in a superb balance of playability and tonal quality. With this model, musicians will be able to produce a firm sound in all dynamic ranges, from delicate pianissimo to powerful fortissimo.

Yellow brass, silver-plated

The Z was born of Yamaha' s long and close partnership with the legendary trumpeter Bobby Shew. Bobby is an incredibly versatile player, and to meet all his playing requirements he wanted to create one super efficient instrument which could scream out a powerful lead line, or play soft, mellow ballades. He finally found that instrument in the Z. When we decided to try to improve the Z, trumpet designer Shunichi Niwata and R&D specialist Bob Malone worked together with Bobby, passing into it all the special techniques we'd learned since designing the first Z. And the results speak for themselves 

Designed with International trumpet icon Wayne Bergeron, this new custom trumpet provides the perfect balance of resistance and openness to fit any style of playing. Outstanding attention to detail including the French bead and side seams in medium-large bore tubing results in superior playability with strong, brilliant tonal colors suited to various genres, particularly jazz or popular music.

The primary consultant for the CH Series was John Hagstrom of the Chicago Symphony. In addition to testing parts and later prototypes with John and his colleagues, some very famous vintage trumpets owned by the CSO were used as benchmarks in the process. Those horns were studied in great detail, not to copy them, but rather to understand what made them so special. They had their flaws too, yet they set a fantastic reference standard difficult for any modern trumpet to match.

Robert Sullivan was Yamaha's main consultant for the NY Series project. Sullivan is an outstanding trumpeter and educator. The project began while he was assistant principal in the New York Philharmonic, and the collaboration was carried out simultaneously as Yamaha developed the CH trumpets in Chicago. The technical secrets learned from the two projects were combined together helping Yamaha learn even more about tonal colors, projection, intonation, and everything else needed to create a truly expressive instrument.

Getzen 300/400 Series Trumpets have been used by many generations of beginning brass
players. Although they are entry level instruments in the Getzen product line 390 and 490
Trumpets are far more than what other manufacturers consider "student line" instruments.
Both models feature nickel silver inside slide tubing and hand spun, seamless bells
with wire reinforced rims making them durable enough to stand up to the demands of a
classroom setting.

In addition to the features listed above, 390 Trumpets come standard with nickel silver
mouthpipe tubes that prevent corrosion, as well as seamless yellow brass bells. 390
Trumpets are also built around nickel plated, nickel silver pistons that are made to the
same quality standards as the top line Getzen instruments.
